Letter sent by the members of Movimento Impegno e Testimonianza - Madre dell'Eucaristia to all parish priests, parish vicars and priests exercising the priestly office in Rome and in Italy on 2nd April 1998

Dearest priests,

Your brother Don Claudio Gatti was suspended a divinis. His fault is: to defend and love the Eucharist, instil the love for the Eucharist in the believers, to let the Eucharist be known also through the great and repeated Eucharistic miracles that have taken place since 1995 and up to the present days in the seat of Movimento Impegno e Testimonianza - Madre dell'Eucaristia, Via delle Benedettine, 91-93.
Cardinal Camillo Ruini, in 1994 and without any reason, after the beginning of the apparitions of the Mother of the Eucharist, took away the faculty of celebrating the Holy Mass and of preserving the Eucharist in the chapel of the organization. The Eucharistic miracles have begun since then and they still continue and the ecclesiastical authority was always informed about them. Unfortunately the same authority never wanted to examine the Eucharistic miracles, to question the witnesses and to gather the necessary information, in spite of the fact that the presence of exorcists and experts was solicited more than once.
Faced with miracles of hosts from which blood and water came out, with multiplication of the Eucharist in the hands of the priest and of the visionary, with hosts coming out from the chest of a crucifix and gone through a glass reliquary placed for its protection and with several other Eucharistic apparitions that took place in other ways, they dismissed all these miracles labelling them as "circus freaks" or ascribing them to diabolic interventions or tricks.
With illegal decrees, which will be dealt by the competent ecclesiastical authority to whom we have forwarded hierarchical appeal, they have forced Don Claudio not to adore the Eucharist brought by Jesus or Our Lady and laid upon the altar or placed inside the tabernacle or put in the chalice of the statue of the Mother of the Eucharist or on some flowers. This Eucharist emits a particular scent felt by those people who receive it in communion and that, on occasion, persists even after the consummation of the species of the bread.
Because he defended the Eucharistic miracles, Don Claudio was suspended a divinis and will be restored in the exercise of the sacred ministry only after he will have acknowledged that he drew the believers in error and will have assured that he will no more adore, nor will let other people adore the Eucharist miraculously transported by the Lord or by the Mother of the Eucharist.
Don Claudio was asked to make a choice: deny the Eucharist brought by Jesus and Our Lady or face suspension; our priest, for his love for the Eucharist and truth, has chosen to be suspended.
Jesus said the fight against the Eucharist has begun, and the first casualty has taken place.
Whoever loves the Eucharist, Our Lady, the Pope and the bishops united with the Pope, let him pray for Don Claudio so he may have the strength to carry out the mission God entrusted to him: to prepare the triumph of the Eucharist.
