MOVIMENTO IMPEGNO E TESTIMONIANZAOn December 8, 2006, on the occasion of the feast of the Immaculate Conception,
the Bishop ordained by God, H.E. Mons. Claudio Gatti, with these words: "God,
with your permission, by the powers you allowed to me through the episcopal
ordination that you gave as a gift to my humble and modest person, in this moment
I consecrate all the Church to Mary, Mother of the Eucharist", he placed
the Church in the pure and immaculate hands of the Mother of the Eucharist,
with the bitter and sad admission that all fragilities, weaknesses and miseries
of man dimmed and dirtied the human face of the Church.
The Church belongs to Christ and is in Christ through the merits gained by his
passion and death, and God in his immense goodness called man to cooperate with
Him, with different responsibilities, gifts and charismas, so that all souls
may find the path to the Paradise.
How did man answer to this great deed of love, respect and trust?
He turned his back to God and worse, those called by Christ to lead the flock,
used the power He gave them for their own base and mean human purposes, betraying
their mission of shepherds serving God for the good of the souls.
God called man to dizzy heights, He gave the grace and the sacraments as marvellous
and unavoidable gifts to get to them, but in spite of this, mankind chose the
devil and his path of ruin and destruction.
For this reason, just like on Golgotha the dying Christ entrusted the men to
his Mother, the Bishop ordained by God humbly entrusted the human face of the
Church to the Mother of the Eucharist, being sure that as Mary's prayers and
mediation accelerated the descent of the Holy Spirit, today the intervention
of the Mother of God will urge, with renewed strength, man and his shepherds
to conversion and will make the Church shine again by God's light.
By entrusting the Church to the one who freely accepted the universal maternity
and who suffers for a world which moans and is lost, we recognize in the Bishop
all the suffering and solicitude of the shepherd who deeply loves man and the
Church, who wishes Jesus the Eucharist to be back to the centre of life of all
human beings and who strongly believes in the path of freedom through Christ,
in spite of the one of slavery through the sin. Let's accompany this humble
and great gift of our Bishop with prayer, with the certitude that it is welcome
by God and by trusting in the maternal love of the one, pure and without any
stain, chosen and wanted by God to be co-redemptrix of mankind.
